How are submitted samples used, and what makes a good one?

Last modified: October, 27 2026

The sample you submit is what registered members listen to before they vote. For each category, members hear the samples from the nominees and vote for the podcast they think is best. There is no judging panel and no scoring rubric: every member is a juror and decides for themselves.

What makes a good sample

  • Submit your best work. This is your chance to make your case, so pick the episode you are proudest of.
  • Aim for 15 to 30 minutes. That is long enough for a listener to get a real feel for the show.
  • Use a single episode. Please don’t submit a mix of clips from several episodes.
  • Match the category. The sample should clearly show why your show belongs in the category you want votes in.
  • Special categories may need their own samples. If a category asks for additional samples, submit ones made for that category.
