Canadian Podcast Awards Celebrates Record-Breaking Year with Over 2400 Votes Cast
The Canadian Podcast Awards proudly unveils the winners of this year’s extraordinary event, showcasing the outstanding achievements within the Canadian podcasting community. In a remarkable year marked by resilience and creativity, the awards ceremony set a new record with over 2400 votes, underlining the continued growth and influence of the industry.
This year, the ceremony reached new heights, attracting over 1100 individuals who participated in the voting process. The diverse engagement reflects the broad and enthusiastic audience captivated by Canadian podcasts, emphasizing the industry’s expanding reach.
The awards ceremony experienced a significant surge in viewership, with more than double the number of views compared to last year. This spike underscores the growing interest and appreciation for the diverse array of podcasts produced in Canada.
Adding a unique touch to this year’s event, the intro and outro were recorded in Tache Manitoba, often referred to as the “centre of Canada.” The journey, spanning over 40 hours of driving and covering 4,000 km, showcased the dedication and personal connections within the podcasting community.
The Canadian Podcast Awards extends heartfelt gratitude to Shure for their significant support and contribution to the success of this year’s event. Their commitment to the Canadian podcasting community played a crucial role in elevating the industry.
The ceremony featured presenters who were not only distinguished in their respective fields but also previous winners. They included Amber Mac (Technology), Jayme Poisson (News & Current Affairs), Marissa Melnyk (Foreign), and Tchadas Leo (Indigenous), adding prestige and diversity to the event.
In multiple wins, “You Made Me Queer!” impressed with Outstanding Adult Series and Theme Music, while “No Quest for the Wicked” excelled in Fiction and Production. “Canadian History Ehx” achieved People’s Choice and excelled in News & Current Affairs.
