Canadian Podcast Awards announces finalists, reflecting continued growth across the country

The Canadian Podcast Awards has announced the finalists for its eighth awards, highlighting the strength and evolution of the country’s podcasting community. This year, 2,248 submissions were received and 391 podcasts were nominated, demonstrating continued growth and participation from creators nationwide. From these, 102 podcasts advanced to finalist status across a diverse range of categories.

This year’s program is supported by a range of partners who help celebrate and elevate Canadian creators. Shure, a long-standing leader in audio technology, returns as a major supporter of the awards. AmberMac Media, Web Hosting Canada, Leschinski Design, and PodCamp Toronto also contribute to the ongoing development and visibility of the Canadian podcasting community.

Leading the field is Planet Arcana with six nominations, celebrated for its immersive storytelling and creative world-building. Close behind, Mental Health is Horrifying and acclaimed fiction podcast Geist earned five nominations each, reinforcing the creative momentum seen across both emerging and established productions. Other highly recognized podcasts include Sorry About The Murder, No Quest for the Wicked, Opinionated Lushes, and The Diecast Podcast, each with four nominations.

More than 245 delegates participated in the nomination and selection process, reflecting the ongoing engagement and dedication within the Canadian podcasting space. Finalists span a wide range of formats and topics including arts, business, comedy, documentary, education, health, Indigenous storytelling, news, sports, technology, and true crime.

Public voting for the People’s Choice Award is now open, inviting listeners across the country to support their favourite podcasts.

Les Prix canadiens du balado annoncent les finalistes, témoignant de la croissance continue de l’industrie

Les Prix canadiens du balado ont annoncé les finalistes de leur huitième édition, soulignant la force et l’évolution de la communauté canadienne du balado. Cette année, 2 248 soumissions ont été reçues et 391 balados ont été proposés. Parmi ceux-ci, 102 balados se sont hissés au rang de finalistes dans un large éventail de catégories.

Cette édition est rendue possible grâce au soutien de plusieurs partenaires qui contribuent à la célébration et à la mise en valeur des créateurs canadiens. Shure, chef de file de longue date dans le domaine de la technologie audio, demeure un important soutien des prix. AmberMac Media, Web Hosting Canada, Leschinski Design et PodCamp Toronto contribuent également au développement continu et à la visibilité de la communauté canadienne du balado.

En tête des finalistes, Planet Arcana obtient six nominations, reconnu pour son univers riche et sa narration immersive. Mental Health is Horrifying et la série de fiction acclamée Geist suivent avec cinq nominations chacune, reflétant l’élan créatif observé autant chez les balados émergents qu’établis. D’autres balados très reconnus comprennent Sorry About The Murder, No Quest for the Wicked, Opinionated Lushes et The Diecast Podcast, chacun avec quatre nominations.

Au total, plus de 245 délégués ont participé au processus de mise en nomination et de sélection, illustrant l’engagement continu au sein de la communauté canadienne du balado. Les finalistes couvrent un vaste éventail de formats et de sujets, notamment les arts, les affaires, l’humour, le documentaire, l’éducation, la santé, les récits autochtones, l’actualité, les sports, la technologie et le vrai crime.
